Objectives of the Australian Natural Resources Data Library

Development of the ANRDL:

• In partnership with the National Land and Water Resources Audit develop a system for discovery and access to data and information abbout that data
• Develop the tools using Open Source applications and based on Open Standards to promote the uptake of such "best practice" systems nationally.
• Implement the latest International (Metadata) Standards for describing data so that it is compatible with both Australian and International systems.

Objectives of the ANRDL:

• Delivery of data and information on-line using existing infrastructure where appropriate
• Provide tools for the discovery of data and information about data stored and managed by the Bureau of Rural Sciences on behalf of a number of organisations.
• Distribute data provided by the NLWRA in a timely and reliable fashion to approved participants in Audit projects and other users.
