Note:
  • Some layers have been built with a scale threshold which dictates at what display scale the data will become visible. Due to a bug in MapServer there is an intermittent problem that can occur when zooming into areas while layers that have a scale threshold set are switched on.

This should be rectified in the near future, but in the meantime an effective workaround is to switch off and scale threshold layers, zoom into the area of interest and then turn the layers on. This should then display without any problem.

The only layers currently set up using a scale threshold is the 'Population (1996)' and 'Towns' layer. This is why if you are outside of the scale threshold it is possible to have the layer switched on but not have it visible on the map.

  • The layers displayed on the map are not transparent. Be aware when displaying multiple layers that it is possible to overlay one layer on top of another such that data becomes hidden under the top layer.
